Give that Defense an A+ along with Chris Johnson. I can't remember seeing a stronger D except maybe during the Bears Glory days. Brown and Haynesworth were like a couple of hungry dogs and Garrard had a ham around his neck. If they stay healthy there will be alot of nervous QB's studying that film before they face us. Special Teams needs some work tho, they let Jacksonville start from our end around 10 times or so. As far as Vince is concerned I stand by what I said on "Vince Hurt Again". ...

Can you believe it! Vince seems to have another hamstring injury. I want to believe this but last year he always pulled up lame after acouple of bad series in a game. Now he has an excuse in case he looks bad. Iv'e tried to believe in Vince but there's always drama with him. If he goes out and smokes Jacksonville then I'll apologize right here next week. Come on Vince, at least act like you can be tough like "Pops"(Mcnair) for our first game.

Red Zone?

The Titans were the worst team in the NFL last year when it came to scoring touchdowns in the red zone. During the pre-season I was hoping to see some improvement. Is it Vince that can't throw it in, is it our wide receivers that can't get open, is it our offensive coordinator? Honestly, what's going on? Now, I'm no rocket scientist, but after seeing that you might think they would have practiced that during the off-season.

The regular season official begins this week and the Titans opening opponent is a familiar one. Jacksonville has made some changes in the off-season with the additions of wide receivers Troy Williamson and Jerry Porter. Defensively, they've always been one of the best in the league. How do you think the Titans will fare in their home opener? I predict Tennessee will start off 1-0.

I often read on Titansonline Coach Fisher's press conferences, and in today's (Friday, after GB game) he kept refering to Vince as "The quarterback". He as always previously referred to him as Vince that I have seen or heard, but every occasion he specifically seemed to go out of his way to refer to him as "the quarterback". The quarterback is fine, The quarterback is doing well. I don't know if I'm over analyzing here, but I couldn't decide if that was him detaching himself ...

Can the Titans defense actually be better?

The Titans lost Antwan Odom and Travis Laboy due to free agency. However, with the addition of Jevon Kearse, can this defense actually be better in 08' than in 07'. Yes, Kearse may have lost a step and may not be able to complete all 16 games, but Kearse at 50% is better than most defensive ends at 100%. Keep in mind offenses are going to scheme to keep Vanden Bosch and Haynesworth from being disruptive. Therefore, Kearse with be able to beat his man one-on-one to get to the quarterback. ...

Fisher said that it is hard to score inside the redzone when your "basic". I think that it would have been well worth it to run some sort of play that wasn't "basic" to get the first string offense in the endzone. Young and the offense have to be thinking-"here we go again". The defense has to be thinking the same thing too. "Are we going to hold teams to 10-13 points and loose games?" Why should the titans continue to persue this guy? It seems to me that all of this energy could go towards aquiring someone that wants to play here!!!!!! I was reading the article in the Tennessean reference Young wanting to develope and improve his deep ball. I know there's other elements to the article... but the problem I have, is we have a Quarterback taken 3rd over all in the first round and he's going into his 3rd year at the NFL pro level...and he still can not throw the deep ball with any kind of accuracy or consistency. Brandon Jones was excused from practice so Biron Ealy and Paul Williams got extra reps today.

Biron Ealy worked as the #3 receiver today and made a great touchdown grab early on in practice.

He seems to have more confidence about him under Mike Heimerdinger, and as he told me in the locker room, he's able to simply ''just get open'' instead of running to a specific spot and rely on his route running to get open. Although he's not on the 2nd team depth chart -- yet -- he has worked a lot with Collins during practice while Roydell Williams remains sidelined with an ankle.

Lorenzo Neal is sitting out there at the ridiculous age of 37 and that seems to be dinosaur type numbers because he can't find a job. I know that is a lot of punishment for a fullback but I believe that he can still play at a high level. No disrespect to Ahmard Hall or Casey Cramer but they don't exactly blow open huge holes. I would like to see Neal get a 1 year deal with the Titans.

A heated practice turned into a heated exchange between Kyle Vanden Bosch and Leroy Harris yesterday. Leroy Harris apparently was unaware that KVB has only one speed and probably felt a little overwhelmed. Everyone said that it is just one of those things that happens. I was most impressed by Harris, after being absolutely man handled in the incident, chose to talk to reporters with a big smile on his face and basically said, 'My Bad".

NFL Owners Opt Out Of Collective Bargaining Agreement

The vote was unanimous and could end up creating some tension.

If the players union feels backed against a wall, there is no telling how they will react. We could see a salary cap free year or a dreaded "strike" if something does not get worked out over the next year or so.

I'm sure ESPN will spend many hours reporting on it with rumors and inside sources. In the end nothing significant will happen and the owners will win. The owners always win!

I do not have a good feeling about the one year deal given to Dave Stewart. Our offensive line is the most important part of the team. You can say defense and that is all well and good but if Vince Young doesn't have time when he drops back then he will be making quick/bad decisions and we will never win a playoff game.

Stewarts agent Bus Cook did not sound like he was verry happy with the negotiations either.
