Haynesworth is defiantly a elite DT. I understnd why he hasn't signed his tender and not gone to OTA;s... I don't agree with it, but I understnd it. Haynesworth has the luxory of knowing the Titans' put a huge premium on the defenseive line, and thats one position the Titans' will pay for... considering you can count the elite DT's in the league on one hand. They have Vanden Bosh and Kearse on the ends, we rotate a lot, and they want the developement of Jones to be sooner rather than later... Haynesworth knows all the pieces are in place... he'll get his money.

We have the money to re-sign our own... we need to lock-up Haynesworth, Bironas and Stewart to long term deals. It sets a positive tone in the locker room and adds stability to the roster.

Bironas has signed a 1 year deal. I think the longest contract a kicker should ever get is 1-2 years. The history of great kickers always ends the same. They are great one day and in a flash they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. I like Bironas but I liked Al Del Greco just as much when he was winning games for us with great kicks.

Haynesworth and Stewart should have locked down contracts already done. The Titans have shown that they will not pay a free agent the big money. If they dont pay the players who they develop and turned into great players the big money either then noone will want to come play in Tennessee, We are already in a small market that gets no coverage on TV. We cannot afford to alienate players even more.
